How to deal with the acrylic aftermath - OPI Nail Envy

Something every bride to be is concerned about is her nails.  With close up wedding band photos of her and her new husband on the horizon she will want her nails to be looking their absolute best.  I've recently came across a product which is helping me get there.

In the months leading up to Christmas I was obsessed with acrylic nails, and a particular lover of the stiletto style (You can see them in my first post where I am proudly parading my new diamond).  They made me feel super feminine and made up every day without having to do a thing.  Bliss!  I soon became addicted.  Each time I had them removed I was back at the salon within a week having them redone.  I couldn't live without my lovely long artificial nails.

However...

Each time the acrylics were removed my nails underneath were looking worse and worse.  This led to a vicious circle as I couldn't bear the site of my short stubby broken nails but getting more and more acrylics was only worsening the problem.  Oh what to do!?

As an avid follower of many a beauty blog I came across a post by Annie Jaffrey

in which she mentioned the OPI Original Nail Envy Nail Strengthener 15ml.  She talked about how it made her nails strong and allowed them to grow.  This was just what I was looking for!  I rushed out and purchased some for myself.

I was not  disappointed.

The first thing that struck me was how fast drying the product was.  Advertised as a 'nail strengthener' I was expecting it to take an absolute age to dry.  However, I was very pleasantly surprised when it seemed to dry within a minute or so.  I applied the second coat as was stated in the instructions and once again it dried pretty quickly.

For the first week I wore the Nail Envy on its own with no coloured polish over the top.  I removed and re-applied the treatment every couple of days.  By the end of the week I had noticed a significant difference in my nails.  They no longer snapped at the slightest pressure and were beginning to grow a little.

I have now been using Nail Envy for about 3 weeks and I am absolutely delighted with the results!  My nails are tougher and longer than they have been for what seems like a long time.  I have started using it as a base coat with polish on top and my nails are continuing to strengthen.

Thank you OPI!

Have any of you ever experienced the acrylic aftermath?  What have you found to help?  I'm always on the look out for more tips to keep my nails looking lovely.
